As the end of 2021 is almost upon us and we look back at an eventful first year in VAMOS. We have in the project tackled challenges that have come with starting a collaboration during a pandemic but also embraced the opportunities that have come with having the project 100% digital. Let’s take a quick look at what we have achieved in VAMOS during the first year:
- public session on the relevance of VAMOS, presented by partners in Honduras and Brazil, which was part of the kick-meeting for VAMOS.
- launched the “Digital photo exhibition – Sustainability stories” – Sustainability Stories on Campus is a series of photos and short texts shared by students. These personal narratives of sustainability initiatives on campuses should inspire and motivate others to take action.
- shared methods and experiences for teaching Education for Sustainable Development at VAMOS Virtual Conference on Teaching and Learning in Wicked Times with over 250+ participants from all around the globe.
- raised awareness on the advantages of Virtual Exchange for Education for Sustainable Development at VAMOS Higher Education Institutes during the Masterclass, which was held online on 29 November, 2021 with 80+ participants
- presented at IVEC 2021 conference on the topic “Are we preparing our students with the competences and skills to meet the local and global challenges of the 21st century and beyond?
- organized a workshop on ESD and VE for the BEST Exchange Project on 13 December 2021.
- over 40 teachers in VAMOS have taken part in the 5-week “Collaborative online Training on Virtual Exchange Project Design” by UNICollaboration.
Although we will likely continue to be impacted by uncertainty and changes, we look forward to next year testing our pilots.
We will continue this journey together – learning, growing and problem-solving – in the upcoming year!
